i left in a hurry

A Poem By Aisling // 2/10/2008

i left in a hurry
once I was on my way
with time to think
i found myself unready to say goodbye
just wanted to say
i’m sorry
i still don’t want to go
i miss you as soon as I’m out the door

i left in a hurry
something like pulling a splinter
you don’t linger
over it
or you’ll find you’re unequal to the task
i’m trying to be brave
but for half a second
just wanted to say
i’m hardly half myself without you

i left in a hurry
left half of everything unsaid
and the love in your eyes
sets me free like a pair of wings
and holds on tighter
holds me closer
than my own life
love is hard like that
love is that beautiful

i left in a hurry
i just want to say
i love you

.....is it possible to stay in a hurry? Somehow that's how I felt.
But I beat you, Aisling. I missed you even before you were leaving. :P
