Favorite word(s): enthralled, dryad, starlike, elf, ethereal, swordplay, breathtaking, breathless, tree, silver, rainfall, droplet, cried out, tears, wings, aerial, fly, fairy, fantasy, etc. (I think by now you get the idea of it.)
Bio:
Before you read this, are you hungry or thirsty? Get some food and a drink. Do you have to go to the bathroom? Go now. Do you have something to do that shouldn't wait? Do it first.
If you've followed these instructions, you are free to read my ridiculously long bio. :)
I actually find it pretty easy to write about myself, which probably accounts for the length of this thing. (Even though I don't like to. Who likes to sound conceited?) Of course, whenever I get done I look back on what I wrote and think, That's all? I'm so boring. Hopefully you won't think so.
So, let's begin.
I've been homeschooled for forever, even in preschool. My whole family is homeschooled, except my littlest sister Helen who is too young. All my other siblings went to preschool in a real school, but they are homeschooled now.
I’m not going to tell you descriptions of me, my fam, and where I live, but I’ll give you this: I live in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, with my mom, my dad, my three younger sisters, and my younger brother. My family consists of:
My dad: Strict, loves family time, surprises us a lot, calls me Cinderella
My mom: Fun, all the teens at my church love her, amazing teacher, sticks to the rules
Me: Strange, bookworm, writer, artist (more on me later, after all, it’s my bio.)
Emily: 11, sportsy, supportive of my writing, likes to draw, doesn’t like reading that much, we clash a lot
Natalie: 8, girly-girl, likes playing with stuffed animals, a squirt, hilarious because she gets so worried about grown-up things ("I remember when I was little", "I’m not prepared to be a parent!", "I wish I had their energy")
Matthew: 6, typical annoying little bro, but can be sweet. Classicly boyish; likes trucks and machines, playing in the mud, digging things up, etc.
Helen: 3, cutie, a bit spoiled. Absolutely adorable, golden curls, talks cute, and everything. Calls people names, however.
Besides my immediate fam I have numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relations.
I have a very vivid imagination. As a strong introvert (my mom thinks I'm an ISTJ, but I'm not so sure), I can amuse myself for hours playing make-believe, whether I'm a Narnian, a pirate, a Northern Ranger, or an elf.
But more important than being imaginative, I'm a Child of God. I love to sing and worship Him in song and on the guitar. Jesus saves!!(!!!!!!!!!) I so do not deserve it. My prayer is to always bring glory to God, becoming more and more like Jesus as I do so. I cannot express to you what Jesus grows more and more to meant to me.
I like to play guitar (though my guitar playing is very limited), sing, draw, write (mostly fantasy), read, and do archery. (Although the archery I can only do at summer camp. I also like to act, but I stink.) Also, I go barefoot as much as I can and sing and play and dance in the rain till I'm soaked.
It's pretty much safe to say I'm a klutz.
I read a lot. Possibly too much. Once a relation of mine, a year younger than me, came to stay with my family for a few days. He remarked to me in frustration, "Man, I thought you would be really fun, but all you do is read!"
He was right. (Then his little brother who is SO ADORABLE started beating him up, shouting, "She's not boring! Take it back!" It was so sweet.)
(I love to tell stories and funny incidents: know that because it will pop up often. I also use parentheses a lot. Can you tell?)
People who know me well seem shocked when I don’t have a book; people who don’t really know me seem surprised at how often I do. I’m the only person I know who goes to the movie theater or to stay with a friend with an armload of books.
I really like being outdoors- sometimes I feel that I must belong to the sky or the stars or the trees. I take lotsa pictures and draw and write out there best. It's more natural, I think.
Oh, and I love cats. Actually, I love pretty much all animals, but kittens are my favorite. It's all because of one kitten I fell in love with. He was named Edmund but he went and disappeared, taking my broken heart with him. *sigh*
And I like to shoot people with rubberbands even though I have no sense of aim.
Also, I love keys and Celtic knots. They're sweet, yeah.
And I have a horrible time making decisions. Half of my daily vocabulary is "I don't know."
My favorite authors (remember I love to read?) are Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, Brian Jacques, Gail Carson Levine, Robin McKinley, L.M. Montgomery, Charlotte Bronte, Lemony Snicket, Erin Hunter, Susan Cooper, Elizabeth George Speare, and Lloyd Alexander. Shel Silverstein and E.D. Baker are very funny. My all-time fav. comic strip is Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson.
Note that is very important and will come out in probably all my stories: I love romance. Godly romance, I mean. But I still love it.
My favorite movies include Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean (1 and sort of 3), National Treasure (1 and 2), Pride and Prejudice (the older one, with Colin Firth, though the new one isn't horrible either), the Princess Bride, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, CATS, Pete's Dragon, Hoodwinked, Emma (both), Enchanted, and Penelope. I also like the musical Wicked. I have never seen it but the music is AMAZING. I like the tv show LOST.
For music, I listen to Flyleaf, BarlowGirl, Eisley, David Crowder* Band, Leeland, Phil Wickham, and sometimes Rebecca St. James, Bethany Dillon, and Superchick.
