Fairer

A Poem By Arthur // 4/25/2016

To the tune of "Loch Lomond" or "Red is the Rose".

Fair are the flowers that blossom in the spring,

Green are the trees in the grove,

Clear is the water that flows through Texas sage.

Ah, but lass, you are fairer than all these!

A bright shining star in the sky you have shown,

To reflect His light you endeavor.

Will you marry me, and I shall be your own?

Wish to be Dunn with me forever?

Who is the she? Is this a real poem or imaginary?

In addition: I guess it was getting late, and I was caught by total surprise. I knew you wouldn't write something like this for just any reason.
As far as the poem written, I don't know the tune of either songs, but you phrased your sentences well to fit the rhyme scheme or to make it poetic.

Congratulations! :) Aside from the subject matter, which obviously lifts this poem to special territory, it was well-written!

My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Megan: Yes, it's a real poem. I'll update my profile pic in a couple of days so you can see her. :)

Homey: Thanks for the complement, she seems to think the same. :)

Damaris: Yep, it sure is! :)

Megan: It's the same tune, just two different songs to it.

Kassady: thanks, I'm glad you're excited!

When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart.

Yes.

Being 10 years older than Arthur (and still single), it makes me feel extremely old.

I don't know you, Arthur (and to be honest, I don't know Damaris personally either, haha), but from what I know of Damaris (writing/blogging/internet friends), you chose a woman after God's own heart. Congratulations to you both, and I hope to meet both of you in person someday! :) God's continued blessing on your relationship, and let it draw both of you closer to Christ!

"Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Don't feel bad :)

Just had to reply to you James to say: don't feel bad! I am 27 and been single all my life! I know God has a plan for each of us, and I know He has been working in me for many years to prepare me for marriage someday. I am so very blessed that He has made me wait. I never thought I would say that, but sometimes we need time for God to work in us (and in our future spouses too!). I know He has saved me from so much pain and future heartache by making me into a woman after His heart first! Don't give up hope! Your lady is out there somewhere! While I'm still waiting for my man, I will trust God in His plan! Blessings to you!
