I am thinking about redesigning apricotpie, and in addition to getting your opinions in this poll I am also looking for examples of website that have good designs. If you have a website or two that you just enjoy looking at, please post the link here as a comment so I can take a look, too!

I voted for "more focused on the writers", but I also liked "more artistic" and "Love of the letter".

I like the Poll ideas! :)
u know how u put a poem on the front page - well I think u should have a poll. whenever someone visits a poem/story that they really like there should be a button like a rating and at the end of the week the highest rating hsould be put on the front page. just an idea

I put 'more focused on the writers', ect.
It's a neat website already, and I don't want it to change too much!

One thing I would llike to see changed is the photo upload being changed so you can type in a URL to upload it from, say, photobucket.

I put more focused on the writers, but I think a lot of them are good ideas. The one about making apricotpie more artistic, with hand-drawn pictures is a good idea, especially if the people who post on the site could send in a picture they drew and get it put up on the site (this is of course coming from someone who enjoys drawing). Just a thought =]

I voted for "more focused on the writers." I love that idea. :) "Make apricotpie more artistic" and "more love of the letter" are neat ideas too.

More artistic, More love of the letter, and more focus on the writers were my three favorites. I didn't like the "online magazine" idea as much; I've always thought of magazines as common place, and have apreciated Apricotpie's uniqueness. I hope whatever change comes will continue in that legacy.

I accidentally voted twice for "Love of the letter".

That and more focus on the writers are my preferred choices. However, I wouldn't want to see this site become more of a social site. I think the writing should be first and foremost.

Thanks for all the comments. Can you think of anything specific I could do to "bring out the personalities of each writer and make it easier to find like-minded people"? I need help thinking about that one.

Ben, I love the website the way it is, although I think the more artistic side of it is a great idea too! Maybe something with showing the authors' personalities could be like kinda an author interview posted somewhere on the site every month...I dunno maybe that's a dumb idea, and we kinda get that in our bios anyway. Just a thought!

I think the interview idea is excellent. You can definitely go deeper.

I like Heather's idea, too.

Sarah H | Fri, 05/02/2008 - 6:11pm

I love that idea!

Anna | Sat, 05/03/2008 - 10:52am

Sounds great! Could the intervies be New Writers and Guest Writers, too?

Tamerah | Tue, 05/06/2008 - 1:44am

I was thinking it would be cool if underneath "favorite words" on a person's personal profile you could have something for favorite saying/quote.

On finding like-minded people: A lot of websites (LiveJournal and Blogger are the only ones that comes to mind right now) let you type in your interests, separated by commas; then you can click on one of your interests, such as "buying books" and a list comes up of all the people who listed "buying books" as one of their interests.

Sorry, I missed the poll. :(
