Bio:
I am Brianna.
I don't really like writing about myself... but I guess I should give it a shot.
I live in a cozy log home in Ohio, surrounded by trees that stand tall and proud, hemming us in from 'the outside'.
After living here the entire span of my sixteen years, it has become more than ‘home'.
Most people would say we live in the country…
When asked, I usually say we live ‘in the woods’. It makes it easier.
I am in the direct middle of four siblings. Two older sisters, and a younger sister and brother. (Aisling, who is also a frequent writer, is one of my sisters)
I’m really close to all of them. And my sisters and I have a bond that very few understand.
We grew up similar to the “Little Women”. Well, I like to think so anyway.
I also have an immense appreciation for my mom and dad, and the decisions they’ve made in their lives. Such as raising us in the Catholic faith, and choosing to homeschool us.
As far as my interests go… wow. There’s a lot.
A great part of my life is poured into music. I play piano and fiddle, as well as some other instruments.
I write music constantly. Or I should say I compose. I don’t often write it down, only when pushed to.
I greatly enjoy tennis and badminton, and also like to act. I’ve been in a few productions for the stage, and I’m really into movie making (okay, that was the understatement of the century).
Randomly, I like: Books, history, the sound of tennis balls hitting the court, poetry, being Irish, navy and slate blue, walking on the beach at night with the waves rolling in beside me, running through huge fields that meet the sky, Italian, walking through corn fields that completely tower over you, watching the sun set over the treetops, listening to the wind roaring through the pines, randomly singing songs, talking till the wee hours of the morning about philosophical things, the smell of incense, storms, the exciting feeling when I’m just about to do something daring, tornados, listening to Nancy Drew at night in bed, full moons, summer nights with open windows, watching the stars, Irish music, trying to beat my dog racing across expansive spaces, doing crazy things with my younger sister, driving. I guess I kind of like talking. I like randomly opening up the Bible to find a scripture that is exactly what I needed to hear, cooking, talking to God, taking pictures, spending time with my sisters, old fashioned things, being with friends, holding babies, cloaks, wood stoves, pillow fights, the smell of newly cut grass, running around in the rain, climbing trees, the smell when you light a match, watching the sun make patterns on the grass, challenges, playing basketball, all different kinds of flowers, Ultimate Frisbee, and flying on airplanes (especially in the early morning when the sun is rising, and night, when the lights below you glow a ‘welcome home’).
And I love to laugh.
As far as authors go, I greatly admire: Elizabeth George Speare, Lloyd Alexander, C.S.Lewis, Jane Austen, Louisa M. Alcott, Allen French, Meriol Trevor, Constance Savery, Charles Dickens, George MacDonald, Nancy Bond, H. M. Ross, and Christine Arnothy.
(And if you just read through all that, I applaud you. I guess you can all tell I take after my sister when it comes to length)
Lastly, I have a great passion for writing. I cannot imagine life without it. It would almost be like the world without the sun or something. It’s an immense part of my life. I hope I can bring something to you through it, even if it be terribly small.
