Depression

In deep darkness; my quiet place
A sloggish rest, a somber face
Pursuing peace in darkest hour
Bitter at this life so sour
A breach of joy this time has been
A time of sorrow prone to sin
A time for me to stunt or grow
Sorrow I reap when tears I sow
A haze, a fog, a blinded spree
Misty unrest is all I see
I wallow in this filthy maize
I cry alone; sorrow for days
A finger reaches to my eye
Tears are wiped, my eyes are now dry
I thank my friend who's comfort prone
For through their love I now am shown
That I can walk and find my rest
To have a friend is to be blest

"Sorrow I reap when tears I
"Sorrow I reap when tears I sow"... beautiful and deep line! This is an amazing poem! I love it and the meter is perfect! Sorry, for these past few weeks I've loved to get technical about poetry... never mind. Anyway, I love this!

Thank you all so much! I really honestly appreciate y'all's comments very much.
God uses the milestones as stepping stones to bring us closer to Him. We may not see it in the moment, but we can always look back and see the memorials of His love in the crumbles of our stumbling blocks.

Damaris, read this awhile ago and finally commented now.
Your rhythm has improved so much! This had a rocking flow.
I loved especially these parts:
A time of sorrow prone to sin
A time for me to stunt or grow
Misty unrest is all I see -"misty unrest"
and I love how in a few words you brought in the fact that it's important to have a friend and not walk alone.
Thanks for sharing your heart--hope that you can find great joy this month! :)
