Routing

A Poem By Damaris Ann // 4/6/2016

You are obsessive
Overprotective
I'm sightless and dull
Boxed, with no hole
What I cannot see
Must be best for me
If I'd understand
I'd have more on hand
It's a false calling
Surely I'm falling
My love is annulled
And my life controlled
Drowning, and flailing
I'm senselessly failing
Questions of doubting
Arguments routing
I'll hear it no more
On faith I will soar

Happy Birthday to you! Hoping

Happy Birthday to you! Hoping your year brings lots of joy. :) This was a nice piece! The rhythm was very nicely done.

I was immediately drawn in

I was immediately drawn in and intrigued by the unusual title choice, and, wow, I was glad I read it -- I felt like you really shared your heart here, in a particularly raw way. This poem is slightly brutal, actually, and I identified with it and sympathized with it. I don't understand it fully, because I don't know the context, but that doesn't feel needed for this. It's really good. Well done, and Happy Birthday!!

Thank you so much!!! I'll

Thank you so much!!! I'll give you a little bit of the back story, just 'cause I can. Many of those lines are literal things that have been said to me about my Christianity. Not only my Christianity, but also about my personally way of living (the way I dress, my hair, the fact that I don't wear makeup, etc). So I thought I'd share a bit of that. :)

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

I didn't wear make-up at

I didn't wear make-up at 17/18, either. Shake it off!! Only insecure people tear others down. I'm sorry they said those things to you. Definitely soar on the wings of faith!! That makes the poem a lot more clear to me :)

Lovely poem, Damari - and I

Lovely poem, Damari - and I really appreciate you sharing the backstory on it! Gives it a whole new perspective . . . the final line is perfect! : )
