Evening from the Front Porch

Fiction By Jackie West // 4/1/2011

                                                       After hot and sunny days,
                                                            After work and fun,
                                                        Come the slanting rays
                                                           Of the evening sun.

                                                       Relaxing on our front porch
                                                          In the swing and chairs.
Seeing sun red as a torch,
                                                          Ceasing all our cares.

                                                   Feeling the cool evening air,
                                                           We sigh and relax
                                                    Watching as the sunset fair
                                                            Reaches its climax.
