The Campfire

A Poem By Elizabeth Anne // 4/5/2013

A flicker,
A glow,
A briefly glinting light.
A spark,
A life,
A burning without shame.

The flicker grows.
The sparks unite.
The glow explodes
And bursts too life.

A flame,
A fire,
A red hot tongue.
A burning,
A growth,
A life that's going on.

The flames expand.
The fire grows tall.
The burning continues
And spread out light.

A flicker,
A glow,
A briefly glinting light.
A spark,
A life,
A burning without shame.

The flicker dims.
The glow dies.
The spark just stop
And end it's life.

Very effective writing, and

Very effective writing, and really makes you think of a campfire. Describes it well!

Thank you! Btw - I noticed

Thank you! Btw - I noticed that you were asking about the whole publishing thing on the topics page. I don't know when someone will answer you, so I figured I could give a simple explanation now.

Basically, there are two main types of writers on AP - monthly writers an writers. The main difference is that monthly writers get their stiff published right away, while regular writers have to get them approved. After you "publish" a work, it probably won't actually be published right away because James has to approve of it first. This is just so they make sure there isn't anything bad published (unless there's some deeper reason that I haven't heard about). Once James publishes it - which has usually been on Sunday evenings recently for me - the "visible only to you" thing will dissapear and anyone can read it.
After being on AP for a while, you can ask to become a monthly writer. If you are accepted, your works will be published immediately and will show up on the home page thing of AP.

I hope that helps!

See him with his books:
Tree beside the brooks,
Drinking at the root
Till the branch bear fruit.
See him with his pen:
Written line, and then,
Better thought preferred,
Deep from in the Word.
