Would I?

A Poem By Emilee // 11/3/2012

I would love a comment :)
--------------------------------------------
Would I?

Would it be clear-
If I stood in a place where He stood?
Would I actually know?
Would His presence be understood?

If I found the hill-
The place where His blood dripped-
Could I feel him?
Would I see His body stripped?

Would I know it-
If I sat where the vinegar spilt?
Would I taste it-
The pain and agony with my guilt?

If I touched the thorns-
That sat atop His wet brow-
Would I sense-
The misery that He allowed?

If I could see the cross-
Would I be brave enough to touch?
Could I face the thing-
That ended and began so much?

If I could hear His cry-
Would I be able to stand near?
Could I live on-
With all of His love being clear?

If I could see His eyes-
Would I still be the way I am?
If I could feel His touch-
Would I be more of a lamb?

AWE-SOME

Wow. Emilee, this is AWEsome. This needs to be put into song. You wouldn't mind if I would try to use your words and write a song on the piano, would you?

Beautiful

Emilee, you did a wonderful job with this poem. What a poignant reminder of how futile it is for us to truly understand the sacrifice that Christ made for us. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Amazing...

Wow. Just wow. It took my breath away. Beautiful form, I usually don't go for the rhymes but this is just awesome! Love the message also... It totally should be made into a song.

:)

This is beautiful. It reminds me a little of the hymn "Were You There?"

Okay, Emilee...

The song has been composed! I have yet to record it but I am wondering whether you would like me to email it to you by sending it first to Arthur and then he sending it to you (since he should know your email) or you telling me your email.

Also, I hope it was alright that I had to delete a couple words and add some more since there was no other way the song could flow because your poem has no particular syllables in each line.

I will send you part one and part two of the recordings plus the revision I had made on Microsoft Word when it's all recorded. As for anyone else, if you would like a copy, tell me. I cannot send anything to you by the contact form since there is no option to send attachments through there. :)

Sweet!

Honestly, I figured you would have to revise it some! It wasn't really in song form.

Mmm, I'd rather not post my e-mail right here. So, you could sent it to Arthur , or just get my e-mail from him! I don't care if you have it, I just don't want to post here!

It's super cool that you did this!

Yeah, I don't know why

Yeah, I don't know why anybody would want to post their email on here. I was thinking that Arthur could forward it to you...if you rather me not know your email. But the other way around is fine too!
