Jaiden: Part 2

Fiction By Erin // 12/7/2008

It wasn't late. I supposed Father would probably invite HIM (I thought the name with so much disgust I nearly puked. Ugh.) to dinner this evening. I groaned loudly. "I'm not intelligent enough to become queen anyway," I said aloud to myself.
"Princess Jaiden, King Zion needs you," my butler, Amir notified me.

"Tell him I shalt be there in a moment," I instructed, rising from my seat on the bed. Amir nodded and began to leave, and I began to follow, but then it occured to me that Mother and Father would be furious if I wore a sleeping gown to dinner.
A sly smile overcame my lips. Well then, I suppose anything else would do.

Around a half hour later, I entered the dining hall. Yes, my suspicions were correct! There Ulises (puke) was, sitting next to my father.
"Oh my goodness! Jaiden, what are you wearing?" Father shouted. Ulises wisely stayed quiet and just looked in shock. "I painted this dress myself, Father, do you not love it?" I said with feigned concern. I found oil paints and painted my "fancy dress" bright purple, as well as my face and shoes. I accidentally let out a giggle. The looks on their faces were hilarious.

"Ulises, forgive my daughter. She must have eaten the poisonous berries," Father said.
"What poisonous berries, Father?" I said loudly.
"Jaiden, be quiet!" Mother snapped at me.
"Sorry, Mother," I said stiffly.
"Jaiden, eat," Mother told me.
I smiled and sat across from Ulises. Ah, Lystri Bird Soup. Yum, I thought as I cringed. Well, this is what has to be done, I thought. So I threw my face into the bowl and slurped, hoping I wouldn't drown in disgusting soup.
"Jaiden!" My mother cried.
I withdrew my face from the soup for a breather and looked at her with pretend concern. "What is wrong, Mother."
Mother gaped at me, and so did everyone else.
"Please still marry my daughter! She's just....Erm....nervous!" Father begged Ulises.
"I will give her more chances," Ulises said.
"I'm right here!" I shouted at them, then I stormed away to wash all the paint off of me. What would it take with that idiot? I would find out.
