A Lullaby for Jess and Arthur

A Poem By Flying Past Clouds // 9/29/2013

Goodnight, Jess, sleep tight
Arthur, don't let the bedbugs bite
Close your eyes and rest your hed
You'll both be safe in your wooden beds

With a tree root for a pillow
And six feet of dirt for sheets
Rest where the tears of the willow
And the congregation meet

With the sun and moon as your nightlights
And no terrors to inspire fright
Two children-at-heart can rest in peace
Wearing black lace instead of fleece

Rest peacefully, my dears,
Close your eyes and rest up well
I will dry all my tears
Just pray for me as I rot in hell

I thought "How sweet"...

....until I read "six feet of dirt" and my brain did a double-blink and understood, haha.
