The Black Rose

A Poem By Gina I. // 12/13/2016

She then became

A rose as black
As her heart and yet
With a beauty rarer still

A rose of stone
With a heart of gold
And a manner just as chill

The queen of death
Who followed her call
Though she could never be filled

With loss of life

Then, time bent to her will

Time was timeless
Made of purest gold
But she swallowed a bitter pill

Her heart and soul
In time, they froze and
She grew darker, colder until

Gah! I literally always have a chill of pleasure after reading your poetry. You seriously have so much talent! You had my attention with the unique title, and I positively caught my breath over the first two verses. Well done!

Thank you!

Tbh, you're one of the reasons I keep writing it. It's lovely to know someone appreciates it.

When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart.
