You and I

A Poem By Heather Jones // 3/20/2019

I wish it wasn’t “us and them.”
I wish it could be “you and I.”
Where, instead of judging skins,
We could sit beneath the shade,
And share our separate histories,
And neither of us feel a bit ashamed.

From the comfort of your own homes!
