candyhearts/leap of faith

A Poem By Madeline // 2/15/2013

candy hearts
I found a box of candy hearts
Beneath my door
And what's more
Potent than them?
A little quirky,
Sweet to the taste,
B MINE emblazoned
My fingernail
I scraped it off
The pink dust caught
On my clothes and hair
I kept scraping
Shaping the heart
Until it was split
Down the middle
In a jagged scar
I hate them
Those candy hearts

leap of faith
It's a different kind of love
There's so many variations
I'm not sure which to choose
For you
It could be love-love
The kind that requires touch
And feeling
And declarations of forever
I could be a bit milder
I could
Feign off my wilder
And send you a funny card
Which is sure to make you laugh
And joke through text about never needing love
And you'd joke back
To be certain
But then again
Is Valentine's Day
So why not
Go a little crazy
Take a leap of faith?

Oh goody....

Another nice time to sit down and read your stuff! *grin*

Ah, well....I guess first I should say "Happy Valentine's Day!" So here I go:
