Summer Poems - One

A Poem By Madeline // 4/28/2014

Chance

You're killing me again
I've stared at that picture
An inappropriate amount of times
I dream about the moment when
I come alive
Under your eyes
Feel me out here
And not in a literal sense
I just want what any girl wants
And that's a chance

Stages

I think I think
I've thought too much
Turning everything over on my tongue
Until it tastes completely different
From what it should
You know
What I heard was that
I'm still one
When I thought maybe I'd fallen
At least some
It's just a gradual separation
Bound to happen with circumstance
And I feel in a rush
That this new stage
Has just begun
For us

Maddening

Sometimes it hurts in my throat
It hurts again today the most
And yesterday I suppose
You left and took you with you
From me
And it's not fair for you to continue being
Everybody else's friend
I said I wanted a concrete end
I said it was better left open
I said it was maddening how it turned around
How you crept away with scarcely a sound
And I said yeah it's best
But I wanted a round
Or to or three
To pound it out

Hopefully

I feel the anticipation course through me
Beaming through my computer screen
It fills like I'm there
It's all too real
It's exciting to know I could be

Yay!!!

Yay more poetry!!! I love these! So good!!! I love them all but I think my favorite is probably the first. I love this line: "I've stared at that picture/An inappropriate amount of times LOVE!!! Can completely relate!
I love the idea of reading your poetry all throughout summer *excited jumping up and down* and I can't wait for more!!!
Well done!

:P

Cool! All through your summer and all through my winter...yay.

I loved Chance; I've felt exactly like that. Love the first line.
Stages has great rhythm! I wonder how you do that...
And oh! Maddening. I relate so much too that!

"And it's not fair for you to continue being
Everybody else's friend
I said I wanted a concrete end
I said it was better left open"

PERFECT!! YES! Exactly. Exactly, exactly, exactly. Spot on, really!
Great job, Homey!

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh
