Game of Tunes~ Gravity (21)

A Poem By Kassady // 8/5/2014

Game of Tunes
Music notes
Cracking
Filter through the phone
Biting
My lip falls victim to thought
Trying
Memory falls short an octave,
Lying
Beneath the melody somewhere
Drifting
Is the title of a soundtrack
Abstract
These piano tunes continue to be
Delighting.

Speechless
Words fall flat,
Without a parachute or wings,
Left to fend for themselves,
Hanging in space,
Unsure.
That's why my words stay,
Unborn to the world,
Sliding back from my tongue,
Down my throat to my heart,
Unsaid.
Self-destructive thoughts,
Linger eerily in the inside,
Despite my efforts to push out,
The voices crying,
Unheard.

Trip
I honestly feel hallow,
A glimmer of excitement,
A mask painted with a smile.
I honestly don't know,
Why I'm not freaking out,
Why I'm not nervous like crazy.
I honesty feel peaceful,
Content yet waiting in anticipation.
I haven't seen you in a week,
Will I survive only a little less than 24 hours?
I'm sure it'll be fun,
Like I said there's that glimmer.
I am excited,
Just not ecstatically,
Not yet.
All I know is that I'm relieved,
That nervousness hasn't taken hold.
I'm calm and collected,
I'll have a great time...
Or that's what I keep telling myself.

Stop Staring
Your eyes,
They stare at me,
Taking me in,
And don't look away.
I hold your gaze,
Trying my best,
To stare,
To admire right back,
Right back at you,
But that uncomfortable feeling,
Of vanity turned humble,
Takes over,
And I close my eyes,
Look away.

Waterslide
A scream escapes my lips,
Pushing past in triumph,
Not out of pain,
Not purely out of fear.
Thrill surges through me,
Like the water surges past.
My diaphragm opens wide,
And I emit a scream,
That would be inappropriate
Anywhere other than here,
Sitting beside you,
In a large inner-tube.

Swing
The air flies into my face,
High in the sky,
With you by my side.
My stomach flutters,
Like the wings of a butterfly,
Like your arms spread wide.

Posted pictures
Like the tide always returning to the shore,
You return to my mind,
Crashing in,
Or slowly washing up.
One way or another,
If by choice,
Or by a blind stumble.
Blind or not,
I see you constantly,
Always returning to the shores,
Of my consciousness.
Posted pictures,
Of your bright smile.
My chest (as if instinctively) tightens,
Reacting to a bad habit,
Past habits of obsession,
Old addictions to air,
And nothing but daydreams.

Gravity
Weightless falling,
The touch of our lips,
Doubles the effects of gravity.
Falling to hit the ground,
No pain,
Just heavy in your arms.
I wake,
Finding not only gravities normality,
But also the absence of you.
Dreams full of spinning,
Dancing with you only to fall,
Unbalanced and unprepared.
Rolling over and over,
I feel nothing but your lips,
And gravity pulling us down,
Entangled together.
And oh how I ache,
For,
My dreams give you to me,
And then take you away,
The minute I wake,
To the light of day.
