Birthday Song

A Poem By Mairead // 10/5/2009

*It's under peotry, but it's supposed to be a song. It's kind of funny without the tune, and lost some of it's character.*

It’s my birthday and I’m six years old
My mama took me shopping, oh , oh, oh
I saw the best doll castle I had ever seen
I turned to her and started to plead

I wanna get the king
I wanna get the queen
I wanna get the whole treasury
oh will you buy it all?
do you have enough?
will you give me everything,
…if I give you what you need?

Years fly by, I’m eighteen now
I know he’s gone, and outta my life somehow
he’s walked away, and now I feel cracked
what on earth in this world can paste me back

I’ve given up my king
I’ll never be the queen
I’ve given up the whole treasury
I don’t have any love
will I ever get enough?
will I ever get what I need,
…if I give up something?

Twelve more years of struggles but gains
somehow only the scars of the pains remain
but is that because they’re being blessed?
something’s cleansing them?

and now….and now…..oh, yeah,

I’m loving You my King
I can’t forget my Queen
I’ve got much more than just a treasury
You give the best of love
I can feel it now
You gave to me everything,
…once I gave You all of me.

...this rocks!!  I need to hear it with music sometime. :)
