Your voice quivers and shakes
as you hold back the flood of tears
you don't wanna cry
he isn't worthy of them.

You wonder why you don't
leave him,
find somebody who'll treat you right
but something holds you back
and you can't find it in you
right now to leave.

He isn't worthy of you
not if he makes you cry
I must ask, why stay? what has he done
to keep you so near?
and at night, you'll cry when you
remember the phone conversation
you'll cuss and scream, asking why you
don't leave him.

All the sweet things he's done,
his gentle kisses
will come rushing back and
everything in you that screamed to say goodbye
will run away when you
remember the good times
and you'll keep looking forwards,
forgetting those tears, those frustrating feelings
to see his tender smile
but I say it isn't enough,
he doesn't treat you right,
I say leave him.
