Until We Meet...for the First Time

A Poem By Sarah Liz // 1/31/2017

I never knew you, never will
Till I walk on gilded shores
But I'm descended from your line
Your oldest granddaughter.

Your life was broken, marred by sin
Rev’ling, adultery, drugs
You yielded daily to the pull
Of Satan’s darkest night.

Was there a sin left uncommitted?
In your life on earth
Is left unanswered; your brokenness
Was evident to all.

Yes, I’ll never know you here on earth
But in bright eternity
Face to face I’ll see you there
Where sin can reign no more.

For like the thief hung on the cross
And said “remember me”
Jesus found you, late in life.
And brought salvation free.

But few months had passed you o’er
'Fore addictions’ final blow
Your years of death had claimed your life
Yet for you life had begun.

So long for now, my grandfather;
I’ve the rest of life to live.
One day, one perfect, glori’us day
We'll meet on yonder shore.

This is so beautiful, Sarah.

This is so beautiful, Sarah. Touched my heart.

God uses the milestones as stepping stones to bring us closer to Him. We may not see it in the moment, but we can always look back and see the memorials of His love in the crumbles of our stumbling blocks.

WOW. Such powerful words and
