Never Again

An essay by Sarah Michal | 11/11/2007

Never Again

The bitter taste in you mouth
called Defeat. It comes when
you need it the least. You’ve
strived to win the applause of
the one who was supposed to
care the most, But cares not at
all. You’ve worked your hardest,
tried your best, to hear the words
“Well done.” But all the praise
for your pains is cruel and
cutting words, of just what they think
of your attempt to find love.
Crushed beneath that mortal blow
You vow never to try again. But
Still that old longing stirs, a
Desperate try once more.

NOTE: I wrote this after I had been hurt deeply by an unexpected source, I hope none of you never go through what I have.
