Darkness Gone

A Poem By SURPRISINGPERSON // 8/4/2018

There was a man in El-Qadar,
A man with silver eyes.
He said to me, "Beware the dark,
"For it will whisper lies.
"And raze the shadows of the deep;
"Lest they haunt you forevermore,
"Mock and taunt you in your sleep."

I heard his words, heard and obeyed
The man with silver eyes.
And brought His light into the dark,
So none could hear its cries
And to the evil shades that lurk,
I brought Holy Fires, that burned
The deep hazes of their murk.

“The gospel alone is the power of God unto salvation.
Therefore, suffer, yes. Be misunderstood, yes. Be shamed, yes. But do not be ashamed. For the joy set before you, take up your cross, follow Jesus, be shamed and despise the shame!" -- John Piper

C.H. Spurgeon - "God’s mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water, or deprive the sun of its light, or make space too narrow, than diminish the great mercy of God. "
