An Essay By Timothy // 9/17/2010

The problem is, you’ve got to change the way you live entirely, he said.

I don’t understand, she said.

It’s not just about the visible anymore. Every moment is sacred, important. Even the secret things that nobody sees.

What do you mean?

I mean you’re no longer alone. You’re never actually by yourself. Everywhere you are, you bring God with you. You bring your eternal brothers and sisters. They may not even know it, but every action you take affects them. You can’t be an island anymore. You have to stop and think about everything.

That sounds so hard.

The hardest.

I don’t think I can do it.

You can’t. But I just said you’re never by yourself. You’ve got help. At least, as much help as it takes to make the stars.

Where do I start?

Where are you right now?

It seems so risky.

Oh it is. You will be blind and unprepared. You will risk falling over and over. You will risk finding out the worst things about yourself. You will risk pain. You will risk death. You will risk awaking to a joy that is too strong to survive. You will risk being made new. You will risk being alive.

I think I understand.

You don’t. But you will.

I want to start now.

You already have.

"You will risk finding out

"You will risk finding out the worst things about yourself. You will risk pain. You will risk death. You will risk awaking to a joy that is too strong to survive. You will risk being made new. You will risk being alive."

Thats beautiful. Epic and beautiful.

I'm envious that you wrote

I'm envious that you wrote this first. But not too envious, because you wrote it best. Thank you very much.
