From Myself

A poem by Sarah H | 7/4/2008

From Myself

I run as fast as I can,
but still I cannot escape,
from the thought that I may have,
been the one who made all this shame,
(chorus)

Chorus:
And why am I, the one who is the loneliest creature in the earth?
Why should I, put up with this treatment, from the ones I called my friends?
Why should I, keep on living this dreary life?

Lonely

A poem by Mara Kudos | 3/10/2008
Plastered on the once blue skies,
These drab clouds are rolling by,
I've never seen a sadder day,
Now I'm all alone.

Roses wilting, once so red,
A path of valor, soldiers bled,
Fades into distant memory,
Now I'm all alone.

Long forgotten and packed away,
Pictures of loved ones lost in the fray,
The tears that fall, let them be,

The Code

A poem by Taylor | 12/31/2007

Can you see the hunger written on the faces of the people?
They are mute.
They cannot see themselves,
And no one breaks the code of silence.
Let the dead bones lie in their graves.

We should never have shed them.

Grandpa Bill

A poem by Edith | 7/9/2007

I thought I saw you walking next to me, as I stepped upon the Chapel floor
Turns out I was wrong though, for what I saw was only the Chapel door.
I thought I heard your voice behind me, and so I quickly glanced around
But I was wrong once again… and the bare wooden pew was all I found.
I thought I saw your small red car, while we were on our way back home

My Father

An essay by Sarah H | 5/21/2007

My earliest memories are of my Father.

He taught me most of what I know.
Patience, perseverence, kindness, love, compassion.

He also taught me more physical things.
Riding horses, Writing, Reflexology.

I have also learned that death does not end love. My Father passed away in August 2006.

To the Fullest

A poem by Timothy | 4/26/2006

They say you only live once
So live
Like you’ll never get another chance
Give
Your world true love and romance
And live
To the fullest

They only live once, too
So reach
And touch them when they’re down
Speak
The words to erase the frown
And live
To the fullest

They say a friend is for the tough times
So sigh
And face the world together
Cry
And be comforted forever
