Before the Daystar

A poem by Clare D | 4/9/2008

“From the womb before the daystar I begot you.”
-Psalm 110: 3

Before I was born I was acknowledged;
In the mind of God I dwelt.
He planned my whole life, all that would happen,
And on my angel knees I knelt.

For some say we were angels before humans;
But then how can I tell?
I knew nothing, I remember nothing,
Only God knows what befell.

So then one day I came into being,

Sin

A poem by AmandaLC | 3/20/2008
I see the world from the poorest to the richest
I smell the fear I cause
I taste the salty tears of pain and sorrow
I laugh at those I am in
I hear the screams of the dying
I feel joy at those who welcome me
I serve only me
I want everything

I make lives miserable
I never die
I move your eyes from God

Broken Glory

A poem by Brianna | 10/21/2007

It's the rage of all the ages
it's the cry of all our hearts
it's the sin that drowns the beauty

it's the times we're not assured

It's the helpless little babies
it's the blessing never known
it's the line that needed drawing
it's the the love never shown

and one white dove

A poem by Aisling | 10/15/2007

(I wrote this after my first vigil outside an abortion clinic, this past Saturday...)

a hole through your heart
and your insides tremble, numb
you stand on the edge
somewhere behind you, your world
your life
shrunken now
into sound and fury
signifying nothing
signifying something so great it cannot fit
inside of you

A True Sacrifice

A poem by Edith | 7/2/2007

How did You, O God
Walk that rocky road?
With the worlds sin upon Your head
And hear the lies they told?

I wonder if you even thought
Once about Your pain
Or did You think of me, dear God
Of all my sin and shame?

Of all the steps You took
All for sin, and me
Every step – every pebble
Meant closer to Calvary.

How many times do we
Think of that each day

What is a sin for one is a sin for another

An essay by Edith | 6/30/2007

What is morally objectionable for one person is morally objectionable for all. Subjective (or relative) morality is an error that was condemned by the Church a long time ago. Were it not so, then murder, rape, abortion, stealing, etc... would be sometimes morally permissible and some times not (depending upon the person). This of course is false.
