The War Within

A Poem By Wings of Eternity // 4/19/2011

Note: Here is a new piece that came to me bit by bit the other day. It centers around spiritual warfare and that good will triumph over evil. Sorry if it is a bit intense, but that is part of the emotion I was trying to convey.

Smoldering eyes,

Tell unending lies,

That pin me down with shame.

Talons attack,

Pain is back,

Yet I was not to blame.

Arms raised,

Feeling dazed,

I cried out for relief.

Strong hands,

A blow lands,

The respite rather brief.

Dazzling light,

Blinds my sight,

As courage floods my soul.

Growing strong,

It won’t be long,

They cannot reach their goal.

He’s near,

No need to fear,

His sword He gives to me.

Firm nod,

A smile from God,

A reminder I am free.

Armor laced,

My fears faced,

I give a mighty roar.

Dueling blades,

Their power fades,

I’m different than before.

Shattering wall,

A triumphant call,

Embraced by hope and love.

Victory cries,

Evil dies,

I bask in light from above.

Oh...WOW!!!

This was my favoroite work of your's yet!! I love it!! It's not too intense, like I thought it might be, but intense enough so that you get vivid pictures of what's going on. (All your poems really illustrate themselves) I can just picture God handing you a sword when you write about it. You have serious talent! Please post more as soon as you get the chance and...

NEVER STOP WRITING

Good job--as always!

Thanks so much HomeschoolGirl!

Thanks so much for your wonderful comment! I am very very happy that you liked it! After I wrote it, I was a bit afraid to post it because of its intensity. Also the subject matter may be a little hard for some to grasp. *Blushes* I am so happy that you like this poem the best! I think it has a great deal of emotion and imagery because it is pulling from my own emotions and some of my experiences with fighting what is evil for God. It means a lot to hear that you think I have got a lot of talent! I actually wanted to write for a living, but everyone I spoke to told me I would never make it as a writer for a career (haha!). I don't think I could stop writing if I wanted to :) Just because I am busy doesn't mean I don't want to be glued to my computer writing all day long! Thanks so much again dear and I will do what I can to upload some more stuff soon now that my posts have reset. I am in the middle of writing a new poem at the moment, but at the very least, I'll upload something else I have written already. God Bless!

Wings of Eternity

Edit: I am uploading a short story I wrote about a year ago for something a little different from all of my poetry. You'll have to wait for it to be approved, but look for it under fiction :)

Aww Thanks Kassady!

Don't worry about not typing a huge comment! Sometimes less is more :) I am just thrilled that you read it and loved it and took the time to say that you did! I am glad that you too think that this is my best poem so far up here! I suppose I have to figure out a way to top this one now :) I'll get on that! It may be a bit because I am in finals in college, but rest assured, I am still writing poetry as it comes to me, so hopefully I'll have something new for you soon! Thanks again and God Bless!

Thanks Kass!

Yes, I can't wait until finals are over! I actually have my associates degree already, but I was taking courses to transfer to my bachelors degree. I start my bachelors degree in the fall. I ultimately am planning on getting my masters degree so that I can teach college classes at technical and some state colleges. I'm really excited about all of it! Hopefully I'll get there! I keep telling people that I'm open to getting a PhD, but that will be some time off in the future haha! Thanks for the well wishes :)  Like I said, I won't abandon AP, but I might not get a chance to write some new stuff for just a little longer. I might have time to upload some older poetry though that you all might enjoy. Well, gotta go and do some homework (yay!). Talk to you soon and God Bless!
